Real Wedding: French Country Chic at Antrim 1844

Racquel and Elvin got married in the rolling hills of Taneytown, MD at Antrim 1844 - a historic country house hotel.  Racquel told me she wanted a few key things for their wedding when we first met: playful, colorful, fun, eclectic and french (and definitely french macarons!)  When I suggested they check out Antrim as their venue, it was love at first sight.  They loved the quaint, relaxed feel and how the inn felt like a mini destination location even though it was still in Maryland.  I would describe their wedding vibe as a tad shabby chic with a whimsical dash of anthropologie.

Enjoy the lovely images from Tahni, of Joyeuse Photography:

The ceremony was supposed to be in the beautiful outdoor gardens - but unfortunately mother nature brought some rain showers at the last minute (during first look photos!) and required us to put Plan B into action.  The ceremony was moved into the foyer of the reception venue - luckily, the foyer was neutral and pretty!

Cocktail Hour took place in the main house, surrounded by beautiful antique furnishings.

We incorporated a dramatic long head table featuring stark white linens and bistro chairs with pops of fun colors in the florals.  The guest tables were alternating aqua silk and white and yellow stripe linens with eclectic containers and colorful candlesticks.

I wanted to take these vintage inspired, pink glass dessert coupes home with me!
